Humble Beginnings
Founded in 2012 by Natalie Patricia, Harvest & Mill began as a custom-sewn clothing shop in Berkeley, California. Today, it has evolved into a brand that’s redefining what ethical and sustainable fashion can look like. Every step of their supply chain takes place within the United States. Their garments are sewn within 15 miles of their Berkeley studio, supporting both U.S. farmers and the local sewing community. The company’s mission is simple yet powerful: to rebuild ethical and ecological supply chains in the apparel industry. Sustainability is at the forefront of the brand at all times!
Sustainability and Ethics
From a sustainability standpoint, Harvest & Mill’s commitment runs deep. Their organic cotton is grown exclusively for the brand, and all raw materials are fully traceable down to the farm level. Transparency is truly built into their entire process. The company uses natural and low-impact dyes, and every product, including its packaging, is 100% compostable.
Ethical production is another cornerstone of the brand. All clothing is made domestically, with no offshore outsourcing. Harvest & Mill partners with local, family-run sewing workshops, ensuring fair wages, safe working conditions, and complete transparency throughout production.
When it comes to environmental impact, the numbers speak for themselves. Harvest & Mill garments generate 70% fewer greenhouse gas emissions, use 53% less energy, and require 50% less water compared to other sustainable brands. They are also 100% carbon neutral, offsetting their footprint across manufacturing, transportation, and even office operations. Because their supply chain is entirely American, their products travel five times shorter distances, reducing pollution and conserving resources.
Limited Edition Collections
One of the most unique aspects of Harvest & Mill is their limited-edition artist collaborations. Collections like the Eco Print Series and the California Clay Collection showcase handcrafted, plant-dyed pieces. The California Clay line, for example, features garments dyed with natural clay sourced directly from the earth, blending fashion and nature in the most authentic way.

If you’re someone who values sustainability and ethical craftsmanship, Harvest & Mill is a brand worth supporting. Their line of organic basics, such as tees, sweatpants and socks, embodies simplicity, responsibility, and transparency. With every piece, you’re not just buying clothing, but you are making an positive impact on the environment.
