When Spooky Season Meets Sneaker Season
Who doesn’t love the fall season? Fresh apple cider, pumpkin picking, hayrides, but most importantly, Halloween! Now combining spooky season with limited edition sneaker collabs and you have my undivided attention. I personally look forward to Nike’s halloween collection every year specifically the Dunk SE, as the brand finds fresh and unique ideas that never fail to amaze me.
Why Nike’s Halloween Releases Always Haunt My Wishlist
Every year, I look forward to all Halloween-themed kicks, but the company I anticipate the most is always Nike. No brand captures the spirit of the season quite like they do. Each October, Nike delivers a creative twist on classic silhouettes, transforming them into wearable works of spooky art. This year, they dropped several Halloween-inspired sneakers that instantly caught the attention of sneakerheads and horror fans alike.
Out of the entire collection, the pair that stole my heart is the Frankenstein-inspired Nike Dunk Low SE. This sneaker pays tribute to one of the most iconic figures in horror history—Frankenstein’s monster—a character that has remained timeless, just like the Dunk silhouette itself. The design perfectly balances eerie and stylish, combining nostalgic Halloween vibes with the clean craftsmanship Nike is known for.
Design
The colorway alone is a masterpiece. A mix of olive green, sandy beige, and black creates a palette that mirrors Frankenstein’s skin tone and wardrobe. The black stitching along the back heel, wrapping around to the lace holes, is a clever nod to the monster’s stitched-together body—a subtle detail that brings the entire concept to life. Nike didn’t just make a shoe inspired by Frankenstein; they made a shoe that feels like Frankenstein.
What really stands out to me, though, is the suede material used throughout the design. The texture adds an extra layer of depth and character, especially in the olive green sections, which appear slightly rougher and more worn than the smoother panels. It’s a thoughtful design choice that captures the rugged, handmade essence of the monster himself. From the contrast stitching to the mix of materials, every detail feels deliberate and true to the theme, making this one of Nike’s most creative and collectible Halloween releases to date.
